Make Europe Not War is a bottom up non-commercial project without any public or private funding. Make Europe Not War is from Europeans for Europeans. We started with three people and our Ukrainian friends because we feel that Europe requires more than regulations and diplomacy – it needs all of us, our dedication, our feelings, our dreams and our (inter)actions to jointly live the European idea and maintain and grow the European future.
Europe is more than the administration in Brussels and plenty of rules and regulations. They are just the framework for a pan-European idea that links us across a multi-national and multi-cultural continent and beyond. The idea of a culture whose identity is multiplicity and integration at all levels. A multiplicity whose many voices are not flattened out but in their identity contribute to a huge choir that is more than the sum of its chants. A culture that cherishes difference as our strength that gives birth to the creativity needed in a world in which change is our biggest challenge.
Multiplicity not only brings us creativity but also inevitably comes with conflict – Europe means to solve conflicts by negotiation and collaboration instead of violence. Europe is expensive – but it is a whole lot cheaper than a war. The founders of Europe knew that, and we are now reminded of it in the most brutal way imaginable. Ukrainians are standing up right now in Europe with their lives, their families and friends, and they sacrifice everything they have built up for their freedom and human rights!
Let’s stand up together and express our feelings and emotions for the European idea. Not in political speeches or high-level gatherings but in the street, where we are and everybody can see it. Let’s give our actions visibility across Europe and make it clear that we are many.
We are Europe! We want to integrate – not separate. Whether we have a European passport or not, Europe shapes its citizens as much as its immigrants, visitors and the countries around and world-wide. Therefore, everybody is welcome to contribute and to express your emotions for the European idea. Wherever you are, whether you have a European citizenship or feel connected and inspired, and whatever is your background – you are invited to join and participate and to spread the word.
Raise your voice and show what Europe means for you!
